I took pictures about every 3 weeks up to 6 mos........I can't believe the difference, my husband says it looks like I had a fat suit on, then just took it off. I am proof that with the surgery, exercise and adhering to the "rules of the tool" it all works! The trifecta of success :)

I feel wonderful! I'm at one year out and I've lost over 100 lbs and I'm in my sister's closet (which is like winning the lottery)! I was a size 30/32 and now Im in a 18/20 which is smaller than after I had my son 20 years ago. I'm so thankful to Dr. Snyder and his staff for helping me come out of my cocoon and become that butterfly I always knew existed. I have learned alot about myself, people who I thought were close friends and made new friends who understand the reason I had to have the gastric bypass. I enjoy sitting on the seminar panels and encouraging people to have the surgery and not let anyone deter them. This was the most important decision I could've made in my life and I'm so glad I said "yes to me"!

For all who are considering this surgery I want to first say this is a very personal choice and you should see a doctor you trust to help with questions. Before my surgery I scoured the internet searching for information and stories from those who have gone through this surgery this with the help of my primary doctor help me decide to go with the RYN. I picked Dr Snyder because he specialized in this field; his office has a great pre and post op care scheduled. Dr Snyder is full of energy and optimism; you can't help but be excited for your new life. This surgery is not a magic pill that fixes all, I think this took me the longest to realize. You have to work very hard to deal with your emotional issues that make you eat and then you must work hard physically to help take the weight off. This surgery will help you to take control of your life! I started at 244lbs and now at almost 6 months post op I am down 80lbs and currently weigh 164lbs. I exercise 3-4 days a week as my wonderful doc tells me to. I still struggle with food choices, I do not have trouble with carbs as many do after surgery, not say I could eat a bag of cookies but I have had 3 at one time and did not feel the physical effects of the dreaded "dumping". This makes it my job to resist the temptation of the cookies, I do not always succeed but I think I am winning the war if not the battle. I would recommend Dr Snyder to anyone because of his great work ethic and the fantastic results I have personally experienced.

I'm so thankful I had my surgery. I am so much healthier. My A1C is now 5.6. My dr. said if it stays that way for 6 more months, she will say I'm not a diabetic. That is great. So far I have lost 86 lbs. I love my new life.

It has been 14 months since my surgery and I have lost a total of 122 lbs so far. I have around 20 to go and they are slowing coming off. Dr. Snyder was wonderful but since I live so far away from Denver I never get to see him so I hope he sees these pictures to know how well I am doing and getting along.

I am 5-1/2 years out from a gastric bypass. Before my surgery, I was a bitter, angry and depressed individual. I could not walk more than a half block because my back hurt me so bad. For the same reason, I was unable to stand for any period of time, say, in line at the grocery store. I was embarrassed to go to work, as all I could fit into was one pair of black stretch pants and a big pull-over sweater. Nine months post-op I'd lost 75 pounds and everyone was calling me "skinny," and noticing how happy and cheerful and friendly I was. I believe that is my true self. I stayed at that weight until a year ago, when I was informed by Dr. Snyder that I was "teetering on the edge" of gaining my weight back, so I got serious about watching more carefully what I ate. I stopped drinking my calories (orange juice was the big culprit) and switched to whole oranges and lots of fresh water. I added more fresh fruits and vegetables, and I have now lost a total of 104 pounds. Yes, the first year I did lose a LOT of my hair - it came out in huge clumps. However, when it grew back, it came back in thick, bouncy curls - all my life I'd had straight stringy hair - I no longer have to get perms! I still have some issues; for example, I know I need to eat more protein. Dr. Snyder has suggested I meet with a nutritionist to develop a workable plan. Another thing I need to do is join a support group. I live in Loveland so I can't come down in person, but there is an online group that I occasionally participate in. I plan to take part in these meetings on a regular basis after the hectic holiday season is over. (Once a month won't kill me, after all.) I might also stress that it's imperative to keep in contact with Dr. Snyder if you have any problems, and to go to all of your scheduled appointments so that if a problem does arise, it can be taken care of right away. He is the most caring doctor I have ever known, as well as the most competent. You have made a wise decision to choose him as your surgeon.

I've lost 100 pounds!!! I'm very excited and wanted to let Dr. Snyder know how grateful that I am to him and his staff for giving me this tool. I'm not at my goal yet, I have 63 pounds more to go, but I'm 5 months out from surgery and feeling great!!! This tool has allowed me to accomplish some incredible things. I'm at the point where I'm really taking my own destiny into my hands! I'm working out regularly and that feels really good. Strangely enough, I'm becoming addicted to working out. I have SO much energy and am feeling so good about myself, that alone gets me to the gym. My husband has been a trooper through everything and even though we have a strong marriage, we are having even more fun, because of my increased energy levels and my self-image has improved so much. Thank you, Dr. Snyder, I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate your skills as a surgeon and giving me the opportunity to meet my goals. I'm going to be at 100% before my 1 year anniversary, thank you for the challenge!!

Hi, My name is Linda Purvis(It was Arnold when I had my surgery). I’m 5 years out…. WOW I can’t believe it. There aren’t words to describe how I feel. It’s amazing the energy and the zest for life that I have with all that weight gone. Dr. Snyder is such a wonderful surgeon and he cares so much about his patients. I can’t thank him enough for what he has done for me. To this day I still follow all the things I have learned from Dr. Snyder and his staff. I eat small meals every 3 hours and I don’t drink for an hour after eating. My husband and son are still amazed that I can do that. I work out at Curves 3 or 4 times a week and try to walk a mile or two daily. THANKS DR. SNYDER for all you do for your patients!!!!

The experience with Dr. Snyder and his team has been amazing! I had the Lap Band procedure done 5 weeks ago and I am down 21 pounds. I feel like I am getting my life back! Good luck to all of you who are about to make the best decision of your life. You CAN do this!!
I am 3 weeks post op and praise God I have had no complications, returned to work in 2 1/2 weeks and doing great and feeling good. I am now 5 weeks post op and have fallen into the 'honeymoon' phase per Dr. Snyder. I am not hungry therefore not eating enough and not exercising enough although I returned to work full time and am running all over the place. I am on pennicillin for a bad tooth and thus this is why I am not eating. I am down 26 pounds though. I feel great even though my tooth is killing me. I am almost 5 months out and have lost 65lbs. I am a size 16 from a size 24. I had missed my 3 month post op appointment and went in a couple of weeks ago whereas I was just over 4 months. My labs were all normal except for my cholesterol was high -237. So I am off to my PCP to address that. I have been able to eat most foods and still tend to be sick if I overeat so I don't. I was told that I need to exercise more often and eat more meals with protein. Other than that, I am feeling so good I can't even describe it. My hair has been falling out and I am bummed about that but it's all a matter of time before it starts growing back. I am not going to waste my time worrying about it when I believe there isn't really much you can do about it. I am going to get some hair and nail vitamins though. I figure that could benefit me. I moved to Fort Collins in August so I am searching for Support Groups in that area. If anyone can give me some info I would appreciate it. Surgeon Info: Michael A. Snyder MD (Denver, CO) Dr. Michael Snyder is the most awesome, His knowledge, dedication and care towards Bariaric surgery is beyond anything or any other surgeon I have met or read about. The first impression I got when I met him was that I trusted him. The office staff is very structured as is the program from start to 6 weeks post op. They have answers to most questions and are very polite. Dolly, who does the insurance matters is right on top of things. Please note that Dr. Snyder takes his practice very seriously and he is very thorough. He provides a very informative packet to read at his seminar and speaks down to earth, none of that medical terminology mumbo jumbo so a person can understand every little detail, he is so educated on the subject. He always has time for questions. He is great with replying to emails or phone calls. He is very strict about the care of his patients. He makes sure they are attended to and comfortable. He checks in on them at the hospital. I had the laproscopy procedure done and I can't me more happier with the way I was treated from day 1. He also left me a beautiful tummy meaning that I didn't scar. Thank you Dr. Snyder. Your one of a kind! Insurer Info: HMO COLORADO I didn't have to deal with them. Doctor Snyder's insurance person did. From what i understand, i was approved in a day or two. I believe they have made some modifications on their policies regarding bariatric surgery. Talk to your primary doctor and get the referrals to the surgeon. Take information to your first appointment regarding your history with diets and doctors you have seen or programs you have been on for weight loss.
